A valid passport and visa (Residence Permit) are required for Missionary work in Botswana

Passport Requirements:

Original plus notarized copy of signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Botswana, with at least one blank passport page available for Botswana visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Botswana visas.

Botswana Visa Application Form:

One Botswana visa application form (form number 15, Residence Permit) per applicant. After placing your order, fill out the application form included in your Visa Application Kit.

Photo Requirements:

Two recent, identical, 2 x 2 passport photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.

Other Forms:

A notarized application letter, including your complete name (as in passport), citizenship, and passport number. The letter must outline the applicant’s purpose of travel to Botswana, the length of stay in Botswana, name of places to be visited, contact information in Botswana, and accommodation information.

Business Cover Letter:

Notarized letter from the church or sponsor in the US, on official letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s status/position held in the church, clearly stating the purpose of visit to Botswana. The letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Botswana. Included must be a notarized copy of the registration certificate of the church and a notarized copy of the theology certificate or pastoral education certificate of the applicant.

Proof of Travel Arrangements:

Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Botswana.

Applicants Under the Age of 18:

Notarized copies of birth certificates for minors traveling together with Missionary.

Medical Requirements:

One completed Form 3 - Medical Report.

Other Requirements:

Notarized ordination certificate and notarized copy of marriage certificate (if applicable).

Visa Processing Time:

Approval must be received from the government in Botswana in order for this visa to be issued. Processing time will vary depending on when the approval is received by the consulate. Visas are usually processed in a minimum of 21 business days.
